Special thanks to Douceur de France for the ridiculous pastries we consumed on the show today! I just had brunch at the Marietta location and it teleported me back to Paris where I was earlier this summer. Their Croque Madame is hands-down the best one I have ever eaten. If you are craving some Paris magic check out either location! See the photos below!
I have been a busy boy--last night I crushed one of the most incredible meals I have had at the all-new Prefecture Japanese Steakhouse. 8 sublime courses of the tenderest, most flavorful steak on earth including an A5 ribeye cap, an A5 NY strip aburi and a Zaburon chuck center course with Snake River Farms Wagyu. This is from the same guys as Norifish in Sandy Springs which is another spectacular omikase spot.
Also, I went to the new buzz-worthy Verdure located near Piedmont Park. Absolutely check this out!

Hand is celebrating 20 years of its largest annual fundraiser, Party in the
Kitchen, taking place at The Stave Room at
American Spirit Works on Thursday,
Sept. 28, from 7-10 p.m. This year, the event
will honor Chef Gerry Klaskala, who has generously supported Open Hand for 20
years and has dedicated more than 9 years as a Chef Chair of Party in the
Kitchen. Hosted by Chef Kevin Rathbun and Chef Peter Kaiser, along with
Co-Chairs Marlene Alexander and Butch Whitfield, guests are invited to indulge
in Atlanta's premier culinary social occasion, showcasing 20 of Atlanta's
finest chefs. DJ Twitch and DJIT will take guests back into the decade of MTV,
shoulder pads, and big hair as the evening pays tribute to 1988, Open Hand's
founding year, with an unforgettable evening full of entertainment, flavorful
food, master mixology and live and silent auctions..
Beyonce is in town and I am going Monday (this is me warming up for the show)! Eater did a great round up of Beyonce-themed restaurant gatherings including drag brunches tomorrow and after-parties tonight.
Black restaurant week is this week!
Calls we took today!
- MJ in Lilburn recommends Always Fresh in Lilburn. Also if you are out there try http://www.tbmrestaurant.com/
- Leah wanted Italian and Scalini's is closed but please try Nino's on Cheshire Bridge. Also Antico Pizza at the Battery for Neapolitan Pizza.
- For authentic Ethiopian try Desta (2 locations).
- All-you-can-eat sushi--try E-Gyu, Nori Nori or Sushi Kiku. I like Kura Sushi for a sushi bonanza but it's not all-you-can-eat.
- For an intimate anniversary near Avalon try Cattle Shed at Halcyon. I like Oak Steak House and their sister restaurant Coletta in Avalon. Or Rumi's Kitchen.
- Eating Americana in Peachtree Corners according to Wanda is wonderful
- Up in Gainesville check out Hello Hilo from the King's Hawaiian folks. Also Recess Pub for a gastro pub. Gainesville is ON FIRE!
