Once in a blue moon, a concept comes along that is impossible to pigeonhole because there really isn't anything like it in the city. But the team behind the rooftop at Ponce City Market seems to have an otherworldly ability to see the blank canvas of a rooftop and design something that is truly amazing. Opening Friday, June 17th we have the all-new Rooftop L.O.A.
What
does L.O.A. stand for you ask? "Leave
of Absence." And trust me, you will
want to take one the moment you step off the elevator and into the space.
It's
located atop The Interlock in West Midtown which is already sort of a spectacle
itself: The Bellyard Hotel, a sexy boutique
property with the Drawbar
restaurant. Plus, you have Puttshack, a high-tech mini-golf
experience with food and beverage, and a Velvet Taco. The energy at ground level is already fever-pitch. But now the 38,000 square-foot roof is ready
for its closeup.
You have a full-service restaurant featuring coastal European dishes, a 1200-square-foot Vegas-style pool including cabanas and an indoor bar plus a garden-inspired outdoor bar and all of this comes with jaw-dropping views of the Atlanta skyline and, at dusk, probably the best sunset experience in the city. In the couple hours, I spent up there I had moments that channeled being in San Diego, Brooklyn, South Beach, Scottdale and even being on a cruise ship! Every morsel of food I tried was amazing, every cocktail was just leveled up. This is going to be a truly transformative experience once it opens.
Kelvin and Mandy Slater are behind the effort, and we hope to have them on the show next week to tell us more about this incredible addition to the Atlanta hospitality scene and yet even another project they have coming online later this year in south downtown Atlanta!
Here's my Instagram reel on the experience!
