Westside Motor Lounge, opening in fall 2022, is a dynamic indoor-outdoor, one-of-a-kind culinary and entertainment experience. Located on the corner of Northside Drive and Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway and along the Westside BeltLine Connector at Echo Street West, Westside Motor Lounge is unlike any other social destination in Atlanta! The nearly three-acre complex is being brought to life by Atlanta developers Elizabeth Feichter, Kelly Campbell and George Banks of STHRN Hospitality Co., known for creating culinary events, food hall and spaces and places all across the Southeast. This adaptive reuse of three classic automotive buildings is stitched together by an interactive gathering space between them and was architecturally designed by ASD | Sky with all interior design work by Bunker Design. Westside Motor Lounge features a restaurant and bar, beer garden, cocktail lounge and listening room, an event space with the game room as well as a spacious half-acre courtyard featuring outdoor seating, a shipping container performance stage, cabanas, fire pits, yard games, shuffleboard and a custom food truck. Westside Motor Lounge is first come first served with all ages welcome and is available for private events and full buyouts. For more information, visit westsidemotorlounge.com.

I'm super pumped for a new location of Kula Sushi (or Kura Sushi, for some reason it goes by both) coming to the Howell Mill Road development the Interlock. Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is like Mcdonald's in Japan-a chain with over 400 restaurants. I love the one in Doraville by the H-Mart and the Brandsmart. You simply grab whatever looks good off the conveyer belts as it comes by. When you are done you slide the little plates into a slot that electronically counts the plates and charges you $2.75 per plate. If you amass 15 plates you get a prize!

Going Going Gone :(

Critical darling, 8 Arm in Poncey Highlands closed permanently due to the sale of the property... Scalini's Italian Restaurant, known for its famous eggplant parmesan which allegedly could induce labor in pregnant women, shut down after 42 years on Cobb Parkway in Smyrna... The Sandy Springs location of the Rusty Nail closed after 44 years. It's another casualty of selling the property underneath for redevelopment. The Buford Highway Rusty Nail remains open...finally one of the OG Atlantic Station restaurants from 2014, barbecue restaurant and raw bar the Pig and the Pearl closed. A franchise location of Arizona-based Angry Crab Shack is taking over the space later this fall.
