Atlanta Food and Wine Back!
For the 11th year, the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival (AF&WF) returns to celebrate Southern culinary traditions and deep-rooted culture with a weekend of curated dining experiences, thoughtful seminars and spirited Tasting Tents from Thursday, September 15, through Sunday, September 18. Anchored in Historic Fourth Ward Park, this year's AF&WF will bring together chefs, mixologists, farmers and brands from across the Southeast to create an unmatched attendee experience at every level, with a percentage of proceeds from each activation benefitting Children of Conservation's school lunch program, providing nutrient-dense meals for children in Africa. Honoring the rich history and hospitality ingrained in the South, attendees can savor diverse experiences from intimate, in-restaurant dinners, pop-ups and food & beverage tastings to expert panels, interactive demonstrations & friendly themed competitions, provided by some of the best creators the region has to offer. Children of Conservation has a number of programs supporting children in Africa, and AF&WF's donations will specifically benefit the school lunch program - feeding lunches to kids who otherwise eat one meal per day and protein once per week. This program provides a protein lunch every day to help the youth stay in school and stay healthy. Tickets for the signature Tasting Tents are on sale now, with full chef & partner lineup and additional details coming soon. For more information, visit www.atlfoodandwinefestival.com. Launched in 2010, the Atlanta Food & Wine Festival is a four-day, interactive culinary experience dedicated to shining an international spotlight on the rich food and beverage traditions of the South from Texas to the District of Columbia. Returning for its 11th year with new events and acclaimed talent, Atlanta Food & Wine Festival will be held in Midtown Atlanta on Thursday, September 15 - Sunday, September 18, 2022 inviting guests to Eat, Drink, and Explore your way through the South. For more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.atlfoodandwinefestival.com. Follow Atlanta Food & Wine Festival on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. #AFWF2022

Go Fetch!
Fetch Park has
opened its Alpharetta park with a special feature not at the other locations — two regulation beach volleyball courts. There's also an on-leash
dog-friendly patio and a shipping container bar featuring frozen cocktails and
food. Fetch's
volleyball courts will host league play as well as multiple tournaments a year.
Fetch will be hosting its first tournament from July 15 through July 17, 2022, with
the winners of this two vs two tournament winning a four-night trip to Kona,
Hawaii. Local fast-casual concept Cubanos will operate as their
on-site restaurant so you can enjoy top-notch Cuban sandwiches with your your pooch. Fetch Park Alpharetta is
Fetch's fourth park to open and is similar in look and feel to their other
locations featuring green space covered in durable, mud-free field turf,
cooling stations and a bath area, shaded seating, Wi-Fi throughout and multiple
Ultra Bright Outdoor Televisions. Fetch is free for humans to enter and enjoy, with a
membership program available for dogs to enter the off-leash park. Entrance to
the off-leash park for pups ranges from a daily $10 rate to monthly and annual

membership dues. To enter the property, all dogs are required to have
up-to-date vaccinations on file and be spayed or neutered if eight months or older.

Benefit for Gun Violence
Boo Beard Awards!
Once again The James Beard Foundation snubbed the Atlanta restaurant scene and our incredible talent: The Ticonderoga Club, chef Kevin Gillespie (Gunshow, Revival), and pastry chef Claudia Martinez of Miller Union, all finalists, failed to garner a nod for the ultimate prize. I am beginning to get a little frustrated with the lack of hardware for the ATL year after year. This year we started with eight Atlanta chefs being named as semifinalists including Mia Orino and Carlo Gan of Filipino restaurant and pop-up Kamayan ATL for Emerging Chef, Jason Liang of Brush Sushi Izakaya, Craig Richards of Lyla Lila, and Joey Ward of Southern Belle and Georgia Boy for Best Chef: Southeast, and Jen Yee for Outstanding Pastry Chef. Todd Richards and Joshua Lee were named semifinalists for Outstanding Restaurateur and Midtown restaurant Lyla Lila, co-owned by Craig Richards, was also named a semifinalist for Outstanding Wine Program. All went home empty-handed.
